What Our Clients Say

"The other vendor just threw the tools at you and it was up to you to figure it out. With Cech Systems you get Bonnie Cech inside your practice; you get her presence. We couldn't have done it without her and that monthly presence sitting down with the physicians."

Robbie Sherman, M.D.,
Family Practice
The Polyclinic, Seattle, WA

"It was very much a team effort, and we had daily input into the process. (Cech Systems) made suggestions as we went along...everything was very practical. The end results made the whole experience worthwhile."

Nikki Nordstrom, R.N.,
Internal Medicine
The Polyclinic, Seattle, WA

The Process

Practice Improvement System

The Process

A Coordinated Improvement Methodology

Symptoms: Wide variation exists among your physician practices. Occupied with their own workloads, each care team solves their daily flow issues independently as they arise. Without the clarity to see the end-to-end process, "fixes" are often piecemeal, and short-lived.

Remedy: CxInsight Process

Outcome: Committed to a proven methodology for improvement in its physician service departments, the clinic provides the tools, techniques and education necessary for physicians and staff to succeed at process improvement and work together to achieve the improvement goals.

Doctors

Tools and Techniques

Unlike other consultants who layer broad and generic improvement techniques onto a healthcare setting, CxInSight Process was uniquely developed for medical clinics alone. Based on systems thinking and lean principles (learn more), but designed for improvement in a clinic's core business, CxInSight Process offers:

  • easy-to-understand patient care models,
  • planning and analytical tools, and
  • a step-by-step improvement timeline to implement the changes.

Teaching Approach

Learning about improvement techniques in a classroom is not enough. Being able to apply those lessons in a practical setting is the key to implementing effective change. Through onsite training and coaching, we teach practice managers how to lead the CxInSight improvement process within their individual departments. CxInSight simply provides the right change management techniques to the practice managers and coaches them through the implementation process as needed.

Tailored Solutions

Through extensive experience in primary care settings and most medical specialties, we learned over the years that "one size fits all" is not a good policy when it comes to process improvement in multi-specialty clinics. Recognizing staffing and space requirements vary for different specialties, we focus managers on achieving optimal scale within each department. The change process is the same (as are the Goal and core Metrics), but the solutions are tailored to meet the specific improvement needs of each department and organization.

Best Practices

All the key stakeholders in the department - physicians, staff and managers alike - are actively involved in the change process. Guided by the Goal, and equipped with the right improvement tools and techniques, the people on the floor begin the journey to:

  • eliminate waste,
  • create standard work, and
  • improve quality in their departments.

Armed with the right information (the Metrics), they have comparative measures to determine the best process to achieve the improvement goals.

Cost-Effectiveness

And best of all, CxInSight is cost-effective. Unlike other lean improvement programs sometimes used in healthcare, we do not pull physicians and staff out of production for week-long meetings or to travel off-site. Training is done on the job in your facility.

Process change decisions are made in weekly group meetings and implemented "on the floor" during business hours. We leverage our expertise to shorten your learning curve, so you can experience real measurable improvements almost immediately. Learn more.
